To make this happen, our extensive network connects the def-con-one.com communities. Fundamental to our impact is to provide training and consultancy which will drive best practice and learning for both sectors. All of our work celebrates the courage of business and individuals in supporting the arts and culture of the UK. As the UK city with more museums and galleries than any other outside of London, alongside the country’s largest contemporary art biennial, Liverpool will provide a vibrant cultural backdrop for your studies.

  • Birmingham School of Art, an impressive purpose-built Grade 1 listed example of Venetian Gothic architecture, was the first major renovation project undertaken by the university (£5.5m refurbishment).
  • The cost of accommodation and other living costs are not included within your course fees.
  • When chosen well, art in the workplace can express the personality, values and culture of an organisation but also has a wide range of strategic benefits.
  • This includes learning difficulties, visual and hearing impairments, mental health difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, mobility difficulties, and temporary or chronic health conditions.
  • You will be encouraged to purchase your own text books and will need to budget approximately £80-£100 per year, depending on your programme of study.

You will be supported to navigate the extensive range of careers in the creative and cultural sectors. You can explore your own creative potential – on screen, stage, or in interactive media – while acquiring the knowledge of leadership, marketing, finance and the law that is in high demand in creative sectors across the UK and the world. Although you’re within a business school, there’s a strong emphasis on creativity, enterprise and innovation. You develop the practical skills needed by creative industries through project based-learning with active exploration of real-world cases in the creative industries. You graduate with practical knowledge, industry connections and good qualifications. The MA will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a placement or research project with an organisation from the sector, enabling students to apply their knowledge in a business setting.

This module will enable you to examine the complex ecologies and connectedness of the creative and cultural industries. This module is about the application of previously introduced knowledge, bringing theory ‘to life’.

Learn from staff who combine strong academic credentials with deep industry experience, offering insights into the latest trends and the chance to apply your learning practically. If you’ve already studied part of a degree course elsewhere, you may be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning and join the programme at an advanced entry point. To apply for RPL, state this clearly in your statement of purpose and provide us with the transcripts and module descriptions for the relevant study. Entry requirements for creative business courses vary depending on the institution, subject and level of study. For undergraduate degrees, universities can ask for A Level grades or UCAS points.
